new to the site and a new owner of mastador pup

my rotty recently passed away and i came across gus a mastador. I found him on craigs list 100 miles away at a dog rescue. He's half chocolate lab and ? mastiff. i got him a 8 months and now he's 10 months. He is seriously the best dog. He has a superb temperment and is very affectionate. He can be left alone all day and not do any damage whatsoever to the house and has never had an accident inside. he was the perfect match for our family and lifestyle.

thumbs way up for the mastador

Welcome to the site! Your dog is beautiful, and looks like he's going to be a big one! He looks maybe like lab and French mastiff? That'd be my guess. Anyway, great dog! Their laid-back, almost lazy personalities make them great dogs and not very destructive. Congrats to you finding Gus and to Gus finding a new family.

I have two mastador's. We got them at 10 weeks, they are now 7 1/2 months. And they are about 80#s. Does anybody know how big they get? I agree with mossey, great dogs, very loving and sweet. The girl always wants love and the boy is cool just laying at your feet. Great family dogs!

Their size depends on what they are mixed with, what their parents were like. So they can be anywhere from, probably 75 lbs to over 120 lbs. I think someone on this forum has a dog about 125 lbs. Our dog, Rocco, is about 100 lbs.

Togo is now 125lbs. His is big, he is very tall, he doe not have to jump to get to the dining table, his head naturally rests on the top of the table when he stands next to it (very convenient). He was the second biggest of the litter when he was born, and the we were told he would be about 125 when he is fully grown. Boy was the breeder right!

Welcome to Gus and his family - he color is beautiful!

My dog, Samson, looks almost EXACTLY like Gus. His mother was a black lab and his dad a bullmastiff.

My dog Alfie is a mastador, we got him from a rescue when he was almost 2, he is now 3 1/2 and is the best dog ever! He was supposed to be a pedigree chocolate lab when we got him but we couldn't care less. We do know for certain that his mum was a chocolate pedigree lab from her official kennel club certificate and we know for sure that his dad was a blonde mastiff from Holland cos of his dodgy certificate were only his great great etc. grampa was a pedigree lab.
Baa Humbug!

P.S. Soz bout the length, I like talkin! To see pictures of him go to www.aninewsweekly.co.nr
