Spreading out

Jake lies like this often so I decided that it would be kinda funny to take shots of him with my Treo every time he lies like this. I'm going to link the homepage image to this post. Hope it looks funny over time.

That's funny, Buford lays the exact same way. How big is Jake?

I dont know how much he weighs. He needs to go for his doggie check up to get his heartworm and tick preventive medicine. Im guessing he's about 85lbs, but not really sure

He looks a lot bigger than 85 lbs! I was going to ask the same question (how big is he?).

Rocco is about 96 lbs. Vet says he needs to lose a few pounds. She says ideally he should be arond 90 lbs. It's better for their joints, she says, if they are lighter. But we lead such lazy lives... lol!

Hi, My name is Sarah and your mastador looks exactly like my recent family member, Hoss. He passed this summer and my family misses him so much. He was about 150lbs and stretched out was my height (5'6"). We have another family member Sandi (she is a glenn terrier mix) and she is getting very old as well. I would like to maybe find them another family member for Christmas.

Looks just like my Trevor. He is 8 years old and about 110 lbs. When he was younger laid like Jake but when he stands is about 5 feet tall.

Hi! I am wondering if anyone might remember any of their Mastador puppy weights? I have recently acquired a puppy whose mother is definitely a purebred black lab and whose father is likely a Mastiff, but I'm not convinced! She weighs about 22lbs now at 11 weeks. Jake is absolutely gorgeous - I could only hope to be so lucky!! :)

Hi Michaela! Rocco weighed about 35 lbs at 12 weeks. He's now 2.5 years old and weighs 106 lbs. He's definitely part lab, not sure what kind of mastiff. We got him at the SPCA. They said he's part neopolitan mastiff, but he's also got a curly tail, so maybe there's more breeds in him. :)

Our dog Niko is a mastador (mother was a n english mastiff, father was believed to be a black lab) he looks just like this dog only he is only 6 months and hasn't quite grown into his akward body yet. at his last dr appt he was 5 months and 62lbs. i havent heard very much about these dogs so i am constantly online looking for information or at least people with this same breed. He is extremely high energy and never seems to tire until he has reached exhaustion and practically passes out when we get home from the park or a nice long excercise. He is very strong and very smart. most definantley a lover of everyone and everything. His favorite thing to do is play play play and is quite the little provoker at the dog park. He is a lot of work but through it all i know he means well and has the makings of being an excellent companion once we make it through the puppy stage. anyway i would love to hear about other peoples mastadors! How they behave (good and bad), sizes, etc.

Mastador pups can be pretty energetic, but I found most people with mastadors say their dogs are pretty laid back. Our dog, he's 4 now, could be just as happy sleeping or laying around all day or hanging out with me all day. He doesn't like the heat much, and when we go to the dog park these days, he'll play for a bit but then he likes to find shade and lay down. Our dog has always been very laid back -- even as a puppy. I think mastadors are one of the easier breeds to raise. Plus, they are very smart and learn quickly. Our dog has just about every basic trick down, and then some. They are good listeners and very loyal and loving, too.

Must be a Mastador "thing", our Lacey lays like this and always crosses her front legs, just like a lady....She's laid back and lovable inside but get her outside and her focus is on anything that moves, she's known as the neighborhood watch, she watches everything and knows all, lol.

I have a mastador that I got from our humane society 9 years ago and she is the perfect dog. She is beautiful and smart and protective and calm. When she leaves this good earth I hope I can find another one. I can't imagine owning anything but this wonderful hybrid mix. Her name is Riley and she is 110 lbs.
